Here is the scoop. Some of you may have figured it out from the mysterious appearance of all those music videos. Or maybe it was the not-so-fake April fool’s joke that tipped you off. Either way, we want to get everyone up to speed. Whether you guessed it or not we're releasing a new album!
We’ve always loved the 90s. Pogs, “The Sandlot”, bowl cuts, “The Mighty Ducks”, JNCO jeans, “Full House”, Goosebumps books, Airwalks, “Home Alone”, the list goes on forever.
Most importantly, there was the music.
It’s what we grew up listening to. Everyone has those songs that instantly transport you back to when you were younger. Whether we were in our bedrooms playing air guitar, or riding in the car to little league practice, or it was just that song that was all over the radio during that awesome summer at the Cape. These songs have impacted us in some way and we want to share that feeling with you.
And so, we are proud to present Four Year Strong Explains It All. We've recorded some of our favorite songs from the 90s and this is our opportunity to show you guys some of the influences that helped make Four Year Strong what it is.
To make this album happen, we went into the studio with our good friend Machine. Along the way, we told some friends and they were stoked to hop on board. To help us with these awesome songs, we have guest appearances by Keith from Every Time I Die, Travis from Gym Class Heroes, and JR and Buddy from Less Than Jake.
We're not going to spill the beans on the track listing just yet, but we’re sure that you guys can definitely make some close guesses. We're doing this because we love it. Plain and simple. With that said, we hope you all enjoy the record when it comes out on July 21st as much as we enjoyed making it.

We are excited to announce that on May 29th Shane Henderson (Promise of Redemption/Valencia) and Vinnie Caruana (I Am the Avalanche/The Movielife) will be playing a show together in Philadelphia at a new venue called Adobe. We decided it would be a great chance to do something fun and get people involved with the show, and thus we give you the "Shane and Vinnie Present: The Poster for Charity Contest."
In short this is a contest in which contestants must design a poster for
the show and email their creation to shaneandvinniepostercontest@gmail.com
Not only will the winner receive two free tickets to the show but they will also have their design printed and sold at the show, and will be allowed into the venue early for sound check and hang time with Shane and Vinnie . The best part is: all proceeds from the poster sales go to the Keep a Breast Foundation, and the American Cancer Society, two organizations aimed at the prevention and awareness of breast cancer.
The design should include all the information about the show and have a unique (but printable!) design in order to win. You do not have to be from the Philadelphia area to enter -- everyone is allowed to be a part of this contest for a great cause.

We've had a ton of questions from all our friends across the pond in the UK about shipping, there are 2 shipping options available in the webstore - USPS and FedEx. Apparently there is a pretty big price difference between the 2, so just make sure you ship it using USPS for the cheapest shipping option. Your goods will still get to you in about 2 weeks. 01 Apr 2009 - - Four Year Strong has officially announced that they will no longer be writing original music, but will instead be focusing on 90's alternative rock covers. Following in the footsteps of great cover bands such as Badfish, Nearvana, Dread Zeppelin, Fan Halen, and Mini Kiss, Four Year Strong have decided to tackle the music of the greatest decade that has ever existed, the music of their childhood: the 90's.
While this may come as a shock to most, according to the band, it's been a long time coming. "We've always been huge fans of 90's music" says guitarist/vocalist Dan O'Connor, "and at this particular point in our career we felt it was time for a reinvention." "All we ever listen to on the bus is stuff like Third Eye Blind, Smashing Pumpkins, and Alanis Morissette," adds guitarist/vocalist Alan Day, "this just feels right." In fact, the band has already started to get a jump on their new direction. "We've been rehearsing some of the covers on the road and are having the most fun we've had in a long time as a band," Alan says.
While the guys are keeping mum about what songs they plan to cover, one thing is for sure, Four Year Strong are not going anywhere. "We're still the same guys. We're still the same band," says Dan. "We just want to play covers now. Exclusively." We know there will be some haters," adds keyboardist/wolf enthusiast Josh Lyford, "but it doesn't really bother us. We're doing this because we love it. Plain and simple."
To paraphrase a wise band, sometimes you just want something else to get you through this semi-charmed kind of life, and you can't fault Four Year Strong for following their heart, even if it leads them towards 90's covers. As Dan puts it, "this is not the end of Four Year Strong, but rather, a rebirth." Brace yourself.

16 May 2008 - - On their recent tour with the Starting Line (RIP-we'll miss you!) Dan from Four Year Strong won the tour superlative for Best Beard! You can check out the videoto see Dan's acceptance speech, as well as his ultimate challenge to all you tough guys out there: grow a better beard than the award winner.
Think you have what it takes?? Just send a "Before" picture to contest@fouryearstrongmusic.com by this Friday, May 16 and then start growing! You'll have until our nation's Independence Day to work on your facial hair masterpiece, and then just send us your "After" picture by 5 PM EST on July 4.
One 1st place winner will receive a beard comb signed by Dan, a copy of Rise Or Die Trying on vinyl signed by the entire band, 2 free tickets to any Four Year Strong show this fall, and your winning beard will be on display in Four Year Strong's top friends on their Myspace page. 29 Jan 2007 - - Shame on I Surrender Records. We teased, we tormented. We talked about this new signing just about everywhere. Rob went on The Gunz Show on Idobi radio and talked about it some more. Some rumors flew around and a lot of people guessed. Even though it's a little after 3 am, that still means it's technically Monday. So without further delay, we're proud to welcome the newest member of the I Surrender family. 
"We tried to create our sound by making sure we all got what we wanted out of the band. Lou wanted heavy riff rock. I wanted to get blazed. Mike wanted to make noise. Shell wanted to get the hell away from college, and Denny wanted to start a side project with Tom Waits. Denny is still waiting. We want to play for huge fuckin' audiences all over the world. We want a tour with Van Halen and Diamond Dave has to be their singer. Other than that, just ask us anything else you wanna know and we will tell you."

A percent of the profits will be going towards the Kristin Brooks Hope Center, founder of 1-877-YOUTHLINE, the only nationwide peer-to-peer crisis hotline. We here at I Surrender want to add to the education you will recieve this year, so instead of packing your shopping cart with an extra pack of pencils or that Fall Out Boy notebook, head over to any major record store or even your local one, and pick up the Re-Release of Valencia's album "This Could Be a Possibility" on September 19th.
